Why detox?

Most people subject their bodies to harmful lifestyles and diets that inhibit the body’s ability to cleanse and heal itself. Eating a poor diet of processed foods clogs up the digestive system with waste materials and prevents our bodies from absorbing vital nutrients, inhibits the immune system and, over time, can lead to health problems. Regular detoxification and fasting is good for your health because it gives your body a rest from environmental and ingested poisons, improves your body’s ability to absorb nutrients and boosts your immune system. This process can leave you energized and rejuvenated and is a great way to kickstart cutting out bad habits that can lead to disease and weight gain.

How does juice fasting work?

Our juice fast involves taking detoxifying herbs that help shift the waste that remains for years in the digestive organs and body tissues. You will be given organic fruit and vegetable juices (or coconuts, where available), spirulina and vegetable broth, full of all the vitamins and minerals you need to nurture your body, as well as psyllium husks to provide cleansing bulk and help stave off physical hunger. Self-administered enemas are done twice daily, to help the body to eliminate toxins during the fasting process.

Fasting allows an incredible cleansing process that reaches down to each and every cell and tissue in the body. All your organs receive a well-deserved rest and a much needed clear out. After 24 hours of not eating the energy used for digestion is redirected instead towards clearing out waste matter, dead and damaged cells, blood gas, microbes, parasites and other toxins from your system. Without the chemical interference of stimulants like caffeine, nicotine, sugar and alcohol, your body is able to find a better natural balance.

What do the classes involve?

As well as having the option of attending a daily yoga class, you can also take part in our fun and informative classes on nutrition and healthy eating, sustainable living, meditation and happiness. The aim of these classes is to equip you with the information you need to make healthier, happier choices when you get back to your normal life after the fast.
