More about the Retreat
Our Creative Cooking, Conscious Eating and Yoga Retreat will give you the opportunity to take part in cooking classes that will help you to become more creative in the kitchen. You will learn how to create meals that are healthy, delicious and fun to make. You will learn about macro-nutrient balance, times of the day for optimal digestion and assimilation, how stress affects digestion and why it's important to relax while eating. More and more research is showing the important role that stress-reduction plays with illness on many levels. This weekend retreat will teach you the importance of slowing down and relaxing, and what that can mean for digestion, assimilation, and energy levels.
You will also learn about common allergens in foods and how to easily avoid them, as well as effective ways of balancing blood sugar. All recipes will be plant-based as well as dairy and gluten-free.
Daily yoga classes will also be part of the program and there will be a team of professional massage therapists on hand to give a variety of treatments, including foot reflexology, deep tissue massage, Thai massage, and organic facials. Please note that massages are not included in the price of the retreat.
More About our Yoga Teacher
For the past 30 years, Liz Lark has been sharing her deep passion for yoga, meeting each individual where they are, whatever their level of experience and understanding.
Since 2003, she has served on the Board of Yogacampus, where she teaches essential skills in sequencing, adjustments, and instruction. Liz also leads retreats and workshops around the globe. Central to her practice is the theme of self-care, inspired by Pema Chödrön’s insightful quote: “The root of compassion is having compassion for oneself.”
In addition to her yoga practice, Liz is an accomplished artist (@lizlarkyogaart) specializing in life drawing, color celebration and tactile clay sculpture. Her artistic pursuits enrich her teaching, emphasizing authentic movement, and she is currently studying Somatic Experiencing to enhance overall wellbeing.
Each class she leads incorporates a blend of floor work, standing poses, breath awareness, flow sequencing, balancing postures for focus, ending with body scanning and relaxation.
