Set on the top of a hill, Brescia University College Clare Hall residence is surrounded by nature with a view of the London and Western University skylines. The summer months are quiet at Brescia and with the students on summer break we have been fortunate to have procured the north wing of the Clare Hall residence for our retreat. We will have a cosy common room for yoga that looks out on nature trails that are great for forest and river walks. The residence is situated on 48 acres of the Western campus where deer and other wildlife sightings are common. Located in north west London Clare Hall is easily accessed from the 401 and is a 2 hour drive from Toronto International Airport.




Prices

Shown below are prices per person in Canadian dollars. You will need to pay a 50% deposit and complete a booking form to secure your place.

$675 CAD, early bird price when you register on or before May 24
$775 CAD, when you register after May 24


These prices include daily nutrition classes and twice daily yoga classes as well as all supplements and organic juices needed for the detox. Pulp&Press Juice Co will be providing all of the organic, cold-pressed juices for the retreat. Accommodation, travel costs and massage are not included. Accommodation costs are $65 per night for a single room with ensuite bath or $100 per night for a two bedroom suite with a shared bath (two required to book), plus HST.

More about the Retreat

Most people subject their bodies to harmful lifestyles and diets that inhibit the body’s ability to cleanse and heal. Eating a poor diet of processed foods clogs up the digestive system with waste materials and prevents our bodies from absorbing vital nutrients, which can lead to health problems over time. Fasting allows an incredibly effective cleansing process to take place in the body that reaches down to each and every cell and tissue. All your organs receive a well-deserved rest and a much-needed clear out. After 24 hours of not eating, the energy used for digestion is redirected towards clearing out waste matter, dead and damaged cells, gas, microbes, parasites and other toxins from your system. Without the chemical interference of stimulants like caffeine, nicotine, sugar and alcohol, your body is able to find a better natural balance.

A professional nutritional adviser will support you throughout the fasting process and optional one-to-one nutritional consultations will also be available for anyone wanting to go into more depth regarding their personal health story. During the fast you will consume organic fruit and vegetable juices, barley grass and minerals to provide you with the nutrients you need to nurture your body, and detoxifying herbs will aid in the cleansing process. Psyllium husks will provide cleansing bulk and help stave off physical hunger. Self-administered enemas are done twice daily to help the body to eliminate toxins. Daily yoga is complemented by fun and informative classes on nutrition and healthy eating, sustainable living, meditation and happiness. Please note that fasting is not safe for people who are very underweight, clinically obese, pregnant, diabetic, suffering from kidney disease or certain cancers. About our Yoga Teacher, Deborah White

Deborah is a certified Iyengar Yoga teacher with 18 years experience teaching classes, and workshops in Toronto and at a fasting retreat centre in Koh Samui Thailand.  Most recently she offered classes at several of the Yoga Tree studios in Toronto.  As an MBA from the Ivey Business School, and a former business manager, she is well aware of the stress inherent in todays workplace.  Her intent is to share her experience and knowledge of yoga with others seeking to reduce stress and promote positive changes in their health and wellbeing.

The yoga program offered as part of the Jiva Healing juice fast will support and maintain the participants energy flow as they progress with their fast.  Deborah will guide participants through a series of restorative yoga postures sequenced by design to facilitate the elimination of toxins and balance the body accordingly.  The use of props, bolsters, blocks, belts and blankets will ensure accessibility for beginners and those with limitations.  All levels of yogis can expect to benefit and enjoy the practice.
